"when i set out over 31 years ago to be a working artist, landscapes were my most common subject. the view from the front door of my house in a humble north salem neighborhood was & still is a source of inspiration. among the colors outside that door nothing can compare with green for the variety in color, texture and shape. green can’t be beat for expressing the breath and power of the lifeforce.
of all the possible greens the two i used here are blockx cadmium green pale & blockx green. soon after i started the painting in this show i recognized it was a landscape. & it is a part of the landscape of my life as an artist."
