"cartoon cosmos came into being without a plan. it started with 5 quick pencil lines.
6 areas emerged which i began painting with one of two colors, mars red or veronese green. the swarms of white forms hurtling about live in spaces left ‘unpainted’ except for the lead oil white ground which underlies all. strangely, i found myself rotating the cosmos on the easel, painting an area upside down or sideways up. it made for some risky conversations between my hands & the still wet paint."
