"a friend shared a vintage bl/wh photo of her father on facebook working on his ’36 ford. sculptural shapes of automobiles have interested me since i was a kid, and i knew pat’s ride had to be painted.
Two of the three oil paintings are part of an ongoing exploration of people with their vehicles from the 20's and 30's. It is a poignant experience to paint from tiny black and white photos of ones relatives proudly posing by vintage cars. These paintings capture the early days of the American car culture, the exhilarating freedom to experience the romance of the road."
