early on sloy said, ‘violate
yr own aesthetic.’
it isn’t easy.
some cop in your head always
says, ‘you can’t
do that.’
here we are. nearly half
a lifetime later.
with this.

Cars
i know i've been at it since i was a kid —jalopies, rustbuckets, hotrods, family cars, all captured my eye and my imagination and inflamed my need to draw them. my love of cars lead me to becoming an artist.

Prismacolor Drawings
i’ve dug drawing with prismacolor pencils for over 40 years, back when they only had 36 colors. and i really love leaving negative space circles with them.

On live lines
Drawing lines, usually with a lead pencil, have been a fundamental part of my art from the beginning. over time, i added what i call 'live lines' to my work. 'live lines' are curvilinear & zigzag lines formed by painting their outline & leaving a 'line' as negative space. they are 'live' because i paint them spontaneously.
