South of True North Greeting Card
"around 1980 I wrote a poem called 'the man who drew circles on paper.' it was for a creative writing/poetry class i was taking. sloy was the instructor. we were yet to become lovers. ten years later in 1990 these negative space circular shapes started appearing in my drawings & paintings. over the 20+ years since my work has evolved from realism to mostly abstraction, the circles have become increasingly elemental. & they are still for sloy."
